The 2022 annual conference of the Museum Ethnographers Group will be held on the theme "Rethinking Practice, Reimagining the Future: Climate, Colonial Collections, and Contemporary Collecting" at National Museums Scotland between 28-29 April 2022.
What does the future hold for world culture museums and their collections, and what role can or should they play in building the futures our communities desire or aspire to? The conference will explore topics such as colonisation, climate and sustainable futures; contemporary collecting; co-curating and co-design; addressing imperial and colonial histories and legacies; and digital initiatives and remote access.
