Organised by NorthernLight and The Revels Office in the UK, the "New spaces, new places, new audiences" webinar will take place on 24 June 2021 (12pm BST / 1pm CEST) on new approaches to placemaking and community development to bring culture to new people in new spaces.
We live in a 4D world, so why limit cultural and social activities to indoor, closed buildings? How could creative or social moments be realised in unexpected city locations? Could arts, commerce and community truly find common ground? How can we truly listen and co-curate? The webinar welcomes place-makers, curators, public programmers, designers, architects, retailers, city developers, brand marketeers and all other curious minds who want to unlock new meaning from cultural experiences.
Key speakers include Hans Poll (Director of Marketing and Programme of the ‘cultural shopping mall’, the Forum Groningen) and Madeleine Kessler (co-curator of the British Pavillion for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia) in conversation with Kate Rolfe (Director, The Revels Office) and Peter Slavenburg (Creative Director, NorthernLight).
Key topics to be covered will include:
Resilience and relevance in the arts
Bringing people back to places safely post-pandemic
Authentic and meaningful community curation and cross-sector collaboration
