The CAS Annual Conference will be held on "Re-writing the Canon?" and will bring together scholars, curators, and museum professionals to consider significant recent initiatives in collecting, exhibitions and display, and the issues they raise.
Organised by the Contemporary Art Society in partnership with The Courtauld Institute of Art Research Forum, the conference will discuss notions of a fixed 'canon' in art history and issues of identity and representation in museums and galleries. Speakers include Christopher Bedford (Director, Baltimore Museum of Art); Dr Sook-Kyung Lee (Senior Curator in International Art, Tate Modern); EJ Scott (Curator, Museum of Transology); Denise Murrell (Curator, Musée d'Orsay); and Heike Munder (Director, Migros Museum of Contemporary Art).
